A child of eight years, which could not be literate at all, came to the office of educational psychology and has revealed a story much emblematic of the mysteries of the human mind.

The child had seen a television news story in a suicide. One of those programs where the presenters are cursing everything and everyone and sloppy the screen with blood, a woman died while playing a viaduct. Imagine the hype!

Immediately after hearing the story on television, saw the child’s grandmother was crying on the phone. She repeated in disagreement, “why she did it, my daughter had it all, because she was playing off a bridge? …

The child connected the two stories, the lines of the grandmother and the presenter, and concluded, was her aunt who had died, a victim of suicide.

After following all the dead mess in the house around the tragedy, decided to ask his mother: “Why is that girl’s aunt killed?”. Probably to try and protect the son of a trauma, the mother replied: “She killed herself, she fell by accident, was rappelling and fell.”

Quilici Cristina explained that the child knew the truth, I knew what had happened. But this truth must be hidden and guarded. She transferred it to learning. All she knew was hidden, because I thought I knew everything that was wrong. The child needed a year of treatment “to take the head node” to be able to show what he knew and advance in literacy.

The matter of habit of children playing hide and will surely be much more charming than this sad case. But I thought important to record here because it is a very strong example that learning difficulties may be related to something hidden, closely guarded in a child’s little head.

In this case, failure in school has served to show that a child needed help to overcome trauma. The steps were correct and she went on with your life. In hindsight, it is a sad case, is a happy event: a mother wanted to protect a child, it seems wrong for trying to hide the truth, but continued caring for him until he discovered what had happened and to help you deal with that story .
