The comments in the post Children use pee and poo to show that something is wrong with them and some e-mail I received from mothers and teachers revealed how families are distressed due to the difficulty of children and adolescents in dealing with the feces.

Hold the poop for days because they are afraid to defecate, loathe to clean the butt, poop on clothing or in a corner of the house and even to play and spread feces on the walls are some things that are part of everyday life for many children five, seven, 11 years old.

I talked about it with the psychologist Enuresis Project, University of São Paulo (USP), Rodrigo Fernando Pereira, who explained the need to face the encopresis as a problem that requires the involvement of many health professionals in treatment.

Statistics on enuresis and encopresis, pee or poop in their pants or out of the toilet, show that cases of encopresis are less numerous, however, are more serious and require a greater effort on the part of patients and their families until a solution.
