This will be the theme of the blog during that week. I have many doubts and concerns about the digital world. I intend to discuss the privacy and safety of children when surfing or displayed in the network world full of wonder, possibility, mystery and risk.

To begin, let me indicate a site dedicated to responsible and ethical use of the Internet. Directed to enhance the healthy and responsible use of cyberspace, SaferNet develops a very interesting and important. Here I highlight a section of the online material provided by the NGO:

“We know that the Internet is a fantastic tool that can greatly contribute to cognitive development, social and emotional development of our children. But like any technology that aims to bring people together, may also endanger the health and safety of children, youth and adults, when not driven on the ethical and responsible use of the network. For this reason, the use of Internet by children and adolescents should be encouraged in conjunction with effective action guidance and monitoring of parents and educators. ”

1. Briefly explain elements of multimedia.

Multimedia is comprised of several elements including text, graphics, sound, video, and animation. Following are brief explanations of each multimedia element and how they can be used:

Text is perhaps the most fundamental element of any multimedia project. Text-based information can also be gathered from resource CDs and the Internet. Applications such as Photoshop can be used to add visual effects to text to create a more appealing presentation.Graphics can be incorporated into a multimedia project in the form of photographs or designs. Graphic images can be imported from a variety of resources such as the Internet, a digital camera, a scanner, or resource CDs such as Art Mania 12,000. Original graphic designs can be created with applications such as HyperStudio, MovieWorks, and Photoshop LE.

Audio, or sound, is a multimedia tool that is frequently used for the purpose of e-Learning courses and training. In general terms, sound can be described as the “vibrations that travel through air and can be heard by humans”. Sound requires the use of different software to allow for the programming of this medium and when using sound in multimedia there are many options of technologies that can be utilised to edit the sound file including Real Audio, QuickTime and Flash. Real Audio is obviously used in the editing/programming of sound files, however it was specifically developed as a “streaming media format” which means that sound can be played even as it is being downloaded. Moving images or video can be incorporated into a multimedia project as QuickTime movies. QuickTime Pro, HyperStudio, and MovieWorks can be used with a camcorder or VCR to create and edit QuickTime movies. These programs can also import movies from the Internet and from resource CDs such as The Archives of History.

Movies that can depict a 360-degree panorama or a movable object can also be incorporated into a multimedia project. These virtual reality movies, often referred to as QuickTime VR movies, can be created with QuickTime VR Authoring Studio for playback and be incorporated into programs such as HyperStudio, MovieWorks, and QuickTime ProGraphics that contain movement are often referred to as animation. Animation files can be downloaded from the Internet in the form of animated GIF files and viewed with QuickTime Pro, HyperStudio, and MovieWorks. HyperStudio and MovieWorks can also be used to create and edit both frame and path animation.

2. How do you define the drawing?

Drawing as always been the essence of most art forms. Since the beginnings of mankind it has always been the closest form to nature. It is another form of language to express nature, creativity, (creativity which comes from nature and what we see) and mankind.

Drawing is the act of creating a representation of any subject by the use of lines and/or value. Most people associate drawing with pencils or charcoal, but a drawing can be made with any instrument that makes a mark. When some mediums are used to create a piece of art, the result is always considered a “drawing”. Charcoal and graphite pencil are examples of these. Other mediums can be drawn “with” but the resulting artwork may or may not be considered a drawing. For example, art created with a computer can be either drawn or painted.

Drawing is considered to be the foundation of all other visual art forms. Drawing students learn how to observe line, form, texture, and value and then reproduce them realistically. Once these basic skills are mastered, they can be utilized in any other visual art medium.

While imaginative or fantasy drawing is creative, realistic drawing is the best way to learn basic art skills and even very young students can learn to draw in a realistic way if they are taught how. Most children and most adults too, feel a profound sense of accomplishment when they draw any subject accurately. The skill required to draw realistically makes drawing from the imagination even more rewarding, too. It’s easier to draw the dragon you see in your mind if you know how to draw scales and flames!

3. What is colour?

Colour is the by-product of the spectrum of light, as it is reflected or absorbed, as received by the human eye and processed by the human brain. It’s also a great design element! The world is full of light. Visible light is made of seven wavelength groups. These are the colours you see in a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet – the Mr. ROY G. BIV you might have been introduced to in elementary school science. The reddish colours are the long wavelengths. The greenish colours are the mid-size avelengths. The bluish colours are the short wavelengths.

When light hits objects, some of the wavelengths are absorbed and some are reflected, depending on the materials in the object. The reflected wavelengths are what we perceive as the object’s colour.

Our eyes are the input channels, if you will, for this light. One portion of the eye is called the retina and it contains four types of light sensors. First are the rods, which record brightness and darkness and from which we “see” a sort of coarse sketch of the world. Next are three types of cones, each one optimized to absorb a different spectrum range of visible light. One set of cones absorbs long wavelengths, the reds. Another absorbs mid-size wavelengths, the greens. The third absorbs short wavelengths, the blues. Together, these rods and cones gather the information that our brain then processes into one combined image.

What this all means for the designer is that colour is a function of light and biology – which means that no two people see colour exactly the same. It also means that reproduced colour can be described, defined, and modelled through a variety of mathematical and visual lenses called colour spaces. Combine these two factors and you can quickly see how colour – and its theory and use – can quickly take on the tone of a religious war.

4. Briefly explain laws of design.

There are certain laws, which will govern the physical aspect of your design. These are not necessarily mutually exclusive and might overlap in many instances. Let us analyze the basic principles of design, which can be applied to a design or layout. The law of balance Balance refers to equalizing the weights of elements in a design. Formal balance is achieved when all the elements of a page are of equal weights and are placed symmetrically on the page. Informal balance may be achieved when the value, size and location of unequal elements on a page are changed. Balance is closely related to the natural law of gravity.

There are two types of balance namely Symmetrical or formal balance and Asymmetrical or informal balance.

5.3 Symmetrical Balance

Symmetry denotes mirror image meaning one side of an image is the mirror image of the other. Balance is concerned with the distribution of visual interest, which means dealing with what is located where in a composition.

There are two systems for controlling balance, which are as follows:

Inverted Symmetry:

Inverted symmetry is where the principle of symmetry is applied with half inverted like that of playing cards.

Biaxial Symmetry

A symmetrical composition can possess more than one axis of symmetry. Biaxial symmetry employs two axis of symmetry namely vertical and horizontal.

Radial Symmetry

Radial symmetry is a related concept and can utilize any number of axes due to the fact that here the images seem to radiate out from the centre like a star.

The law of rhythm

Rhythm is used to create eye movement and direction. It occurs when a design element is repeated. Rhythm acts as a guide so that the eye reads important parts of a message. It is also called the denominator of the arts. Rhythm in works of art is important because it plays a vital role in our physical lives. Rhythm helps us to find order in the world.

The law of emphasis

Emphasis or contrast adds variety to a design. It is the variations of elements in the printed product. Some elements of a layout stand out because of contrast. This is achieved by a difference in size, colour or appearance. Some of the contrasts are: round and straight, ornate and plain, broad and narrow. Various aspects such as contrasts, dominance, isolation, floodlighting the copy with white, repetition, and radiation can bring about emphasis.

The Law of Unity

Unity or harmony gives elements the appearance of belonging together. It is the proper balance of all elements to get a pleasing result as a whole. The image is viewed as one piece, as a whole, and not as separate elements. Unity implies the union of all elements in a layout, where each part supports the other parts and all combine to form an artistic homogeneous whole. It can be achieved by continuity or harmony. The element of simplicity in a design leads to easier comprehension. It is necessary, especially in a layout, to achieve clarity.

5. What is font?

The life of the text lies in typefaces and fonts. Sheer artistry is possible by manipulating these to suit the requirement. Although typeface and font are often used interchangeably, a typeface refers to a type family, such as Times Roman, Avant Garde or Frutiger, while a font refers to a single instance of one of these typefaces, such as Frutiger light, Frutiger Roman or Frutiger Roman Italic.

we know how to identify the parts, make sure the spacing is correct and we’ve decided on the image we want to portray, selecting what your message will look like is paramount to leaving the gravy off the mashed potatoes at dinner. You’re still going to have a nice dinner, but if you want to get saucy, pick a type category that fits.

• Serif type has extensions or strokes on the ends of the letters. Times New Roman is a perfect example of this.

This type of font is easy to read for longer pieces and tends to be a little more conservative. If you do not deliberately choose another font, most programs default to the Times New Roman style.

• San-Serif does not have extensions or strokes on the ends of the letters and are used heavily for labeling, headlines and titles. This is also easy to read with a more contemporary feel to it. Children’s books use this because it is more easily identifiable as children are learning the alphabet.

• Script, symbols and decorative type are all styles of type categories to create a specific image or message.Weddings might lean more toward the fluid motion of a script type while a child’s birthday might be more inclined to like a decorative font from a favorite movie.

The font you decide on should not dominate the piece. Fonts are like exquisite jewellery to be placed in just the right context to insure maximum results.

• Use care when mixing fonts. It’s kind of like mixing stripes and plaids. When in doubt, stay with something a little more conservative then add one splash of notice me.

• Use consistency in your layouts. If you start out using an Arial font for the headers, stay with the same font throughout the piece.

• Newsletters with columns will look better if you use the Justified Alignment. Make sure you don’t create rivers of white space though.

• Use an 11 or 12 point font size and a serif type for maximum readability.

• Use Italics and Bold to point out areas of interest or draw quick reference to information.

• Use colour for emphasis. Remember, reds draw the most attention if used correctly. It is amazing what one spot of red can do for an ordinary ad.

Introduction

The “snake game” is one of the simplest game concepts ever, and just like Tetris it’s very addictive. There are a lot of variations of this game written in “C” Language. It’s a relatively easy game to code.

To move the snake, use ‘↑’ for up, ‘↓’ for down, ‘←’ for left and ‘→’ for right. Press ‘ESCAPE’ Key to exit the game at any time.

The aim of the game is to collect the Number and avoid the obstacles .As you collect number, the snake gets longer, so increasing your likelihood of crashing into yourself. When you have collected enough number/ food, you progress onto the next level, where your snake gets longer, and the amount of food to collect to progress through the level gets larger.

You get scored according to the length of the snake

The speed increases every 5 levels.

There is no concept of lives. Once you hit an obstacle, that’s it, game over.

Make sure you do not have the caps lock on, otherwise the keys will fail to respond.

The Listing
This is the C program for the game. it is reasonably well structured, but by no means perfect. Note that it uses library functions that are not available on all C compilers – it was designed using Borland C++ Builder / Turbo C. Also it uses a few C++ concepts not available in standard C – e.g. const for a constant (you would use #define in normal C). You may also have to change your compiler settings if you have them set to ANSI C to C++ instead – the for loops define a local instance of i as a loop counter, a concept to available in standard C.

The employer can easily assess the types of personality of a candidate namely Driver, Supporter, Thinker or Motivator. Assertiveness, trust, objectivity, stability, tolerance, reasoning ability, Interactive skills etc. are some of the personality traits important in the field of sales and customer services. Sales Personality tests also help him in getting an overview of these personality traits in an individual required in these job profiles.

It is the responsibility of the employer to make wise selection, as this selection greatly affects the future of an organization. Selection of a candidate with wrong personality traits can cost a negative publicity to sales organization in the business market. It can lead to downfall of the organization. Thus to avoid this situation sales personality tests are conducted by employers as area of sales effects the rise and fall of an organization adversely.

Today, I will follow this series with a psychologist and psychoanalyst Rubens Maciel key talking points for the emotional development of a person. After all, the last day of information lead us to think, that parents are creating for our grandchildren? The cycle of life is amazing!

In my particular case, I can also think, with the father I had, until I’m healthy too. More than authoritarian, a tyrant! And psychoanalysis gives you …

I will begin and end with a sentence of psychoanalyst reassuring and disturbing at the same time: “The land that you should prepare to plant is in early childhood. And throughout the life course, you’ll be making, learning from experience. Now, a person who has had problems in early childhood will learn much less, much less fit in life, than he who did not. ”

Before explaining the factors present in the formation of one’s personality, psychologist and psychoanalyst Rubens Maciel was keen to stress: for psychoanalysis, a person can not be evaluated considering a direct cause and effect. That is, there is this: does this, what gives.

According to Rubens Maciel, “to the emotional development of one there are some features that are important, among many others that we do not know.” He called three of them as vital: family history, nature and history of the child’s life.

The analyst explained that the issue of family is very important in shaping the character. According to him, loving parents give the child the certainty of being loved and this enables him to believe that the world wants. “It sets itself a confidence that is loved the way it is, and that the world gets well. It is a very different attitude that says I am loved and I have to be a good boy to be loved, “he said.

The little loving relationships between parents and children generate much anxiety in children. And the systematic collection of a father immature, unable to understand and accept the child with their capabilities and limitations compromise the spontaneity of being in development. “The child is about to fulfill the wishes of those parents who are often unworkable because it is a chronic dissatisfaction of his father. So she tries, tries, but never okay, “he said.

Another vital issue for the formation of personality is the nature of the child. According to Rubens Maciel, children are destructive and constructive. They are born with a trait that interferes with the person’s personality. The most welcome constructive things that receive and retain within itself. The most destructive are unable or very difficult to receive and preserve them in what they receive.

According to the psychoanalyst, the child of the constructive nature works like this: “Mommy come here, suck me, then she likes me.” And so destructive: “Mom came here, gave suck, but first gave to my brother, and she gave too little, she wanted to stay here anymore.”

“You take two children, twins to the same treatment, one is never satisfied, always moaning, crying, angry. And the other not, be at peace, and quiet. In a good family, a destructive child can still have some good things and preserve. If it is destructive and the family is poor, the prognosis is very unfavorable, “he said.

And the third factor that influences the development of personality is the story of a person’s life. Some traumas have a negative influence. “You can be constructive, have had a good family, but suddenly lost his parents in an accident. Then go to an orphanage, is harassed because he is black or is Japanese, because for whatever. These are the traumas of life, “he said.

Rubens Maciel said that some factors can be barriers to emotional development. In some people, some aspects are able to halt the development, which would explain a person of 40 years with emotional age of 15.

The analyst explained that the first years of life are critical, but nobody is ready and finished at five, six years old. “The land that you should prepare to plant is in early childhood. And throughout the life course, you’ll be making, learning from experience. Now, a person who has had problems in early childhood will learn much less, much less fit in life, than he who did not, “he said.

I talked with a psychologist and psychoanalyst Rubens Maciel about the difference between functions and roles played by fathers and mothers for the proper development of the child. Not always, the maternal and paternal functions are performed by men and women who created or adopted children. These functions may be undertaken by others, making the role of father or mother.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, playing the mother has plenty of both. Some parents also, but it’s hard, you know any?

In the view of Rubens Maciel, there are no defined roles and functions for men and women, although there is a predominance of certain characteristics in each. “A healthy person is a person very rich and sensitive to perform the various functions,” he says.

It defines the roles of father and mother and those related to social and legal expectations regarding fatherhood. In his opinion, leaving the woman to the labor market brought the children closer to parents who were invited to participate in the care of offspring. But this is not the only explanation for the new tasks assumed by men.

The analyst believes that the dissemination of information on the importance of the role of the father, for good child development, is contributing to a new family organization, where men take on other roles and looking good to play the father role.

“This kind of information will causing some parents to become aware of it, and love for his son, wishing to have a differentiated participation. The affection is something that has been revered in recent years. You want to have a more harmonious family. But there is also the counterpoint, individualism, each will make his career. Are concomitant phenomena, sometimes opposing, but happen “he said.

Rubens Maciel said the father’s role begins in the first year, during which the baby is very mixed with mother. “When he feels that the mother is not fully available to her, there is a limit, even without knowing the existence of the father, she senses that there is something that not only she, the mother shares with some other thing it does not know what it is, “he said.

According to the psychoanalyst, this is an important function of the father, to show that the child is not the center of the universe, signals that a limit will occur early. “A threshold for what? The child’s desire to have control over the mother, being the main reference of the mother. I’m insatiable, and she’ll spend hours and hours giving me love, give me suck “, translated.

Rubens Maciel said that this prototype child persists throughout life. The difference is that in some people maturely presents itself, in others less so. “If you take an extremely jealous person, you will see that these infantile wishes are still in force, remain, in adulthood, too much,” he said.

The paternal function of setting limits is crucial for the necessary separation between mother and baby. In the process of maturation, the child understands that the mother is another person who has interests, needs and tasks that go beyond. If the father is near, the child realizes that he is present and plays a role here.

According to the psychoanalyst, the father role is to show the child that she can not be supplied by another human being throughout life. “She’ll have to fend for itself, will be alone. She who replace the chest with the finger, the pacifier, then over a toy, then for a friend then a girlfriend. Trade in your downtime at work. She will have to be productive to have a man or a woman, a companion. Then she will move from this position of dependence, passive, if it can mature. Going out for an active role, someone who will do these things in a proper manner, “he said.

For Rubens Maciel, a clear attitude of the father who sets the limits necessary for the child is put you to sleep in his own crib. It teaches that the bed of my mom and dad has no place for him

“This is the role of a parent or a third party. Not to be a father, a mature mother can fulfill the role of the father. And say, look, my son, Mom is watching TV, I take a shower, you stand there, “he said.

DON BOSCO INSTITUTE, a centre for human development, leadership and research is a project of the Salesians of Don Bosco, designed and executed by Don Bosco Youth Mission & Educational Services, Guwahati.
Established with a mission to nurture dreams and shape lives, to awaken latent potential and stoke the passion for excellence, Don Bosco Institute opens new horizons of opportunity for the young people of the north eastern part of India.
This clip is a part of DBI program called CARE Care takes care of the educational needs of the children who are in the relief camps due to ethnic violence or in abandoned villages, unreached by any government schools.

Spreading a ray of hope, the CARE literacy programme began its operation in November 2001. Volunteers from Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Guwahati visited door to door to convince the parents or guardians of these unfortunate children to let their child avail quality education. CARE initially started 27 tuition centres where victims of the ethnic strife who do not go to schools or have left schools could come and learn. The number of centres has now increased to thirty-six. The total number of CARE teachers is now fourty-five, with some centres having more than one teacher. The teachers serving in these centres are mostly high school drop-outs who left studies because of economic constraints and belong to the village where the centre is located

The number of tuition centres has now increased to 38. The total number of CARE teachers is now 46, with some centres having more than one teacher. The teachers serving in these centres are mostly high school drop-outs who left studies because of economic constraints and belong to the village where the centre is located.

The CARE centres serve as bridge course centres for those young children (in the age-group of 5-8 yrs) who do not have a school within walking distance. After these children acquire the basics of literacy, they are mainstreamed into regular schools by the CARE teachers. At present, a total of 2,438 students are attending classes in these tuition centres

Since the parents of these children are illiterate, and economically and psychologically depressed, it is impossible to design a single, homogeneous implementation strategy to bring their children to the CARE centres. Below are the organizational approach designed to reach out to the deprived people and to promote literacy.
